Musso & Frank's is the quintessential old school Hollywood experience. Forget all the brand new contrived fancy restaurants, with their Sommelier's and maître d'. Old school Hollywood. Always has been, always will be. Musso's is perfect for dates, or large dinner parties. Not cheap, but it's not a place that cuts corners. Being around since 1919 this place has long been a favorite of the Hollywood elite from Charlie Chaplain, Humphrey Bogart, Lauren Bacall to Groucho and John Barrymore.

The atmosphere is great- modern, minimalist, open, etc. It matches the excellent food served which is a modern take on Mexican cuisine. Nice date night spot. You can tell they put a lot of thought into the food, The tacos are terrific, the ceviches too. If it's your first time, try the Probaditas. It's a sampler of like 80% of their tacos. The tequila list isn't especially long but the do carry a very nice variety. They are extremely hospitable, this is far from a snobby "Hollywood" joint.

If you want to get serenaded by a piano while you enjoy your classic Italian dinner you will love Miceli's. The pianist is the best, he knows every song and theme, anything from Billy Joel to Charlie Brown and everything in between... he will mash two or three themes together with ease. As soon as you walk in, the ambiance takes over, the staff is very friendly and the food delicious. This place has fantastic authentic Italian food, and amazing pizza. You have to visit this restaurant.

Stout had great burgers and beer, definitely one of my favorite spots in the area. However, happy hour is where they really shine! You get burgers for about $5 each, which is nearly comparable to the price of a fast food burger, but at top tier quality. I love the selection of burgers, and plenty of good beers on tap, lots that you won't see around in many places, but they're a bit too high in price, even for hipster micro brew beer or the nice imports.
